4 Getting a Bang Out of the Guy

Mrs. Butterhorn thanked Primula and hung up the phone. As Mrs. Butterhorn prepared dinner, she tried to picture a "Guy Fox" party. She had heard of English fox hunts, and she had seen red fox in the area. "I hope Primula doesn't expect us to arrive on horseback." She smiled at the thought. "Perhaps I'll wear my red leather skirt and black boots."

That evening at dinner, Mrs. Butterhorn told her husband and two sons about the invitation.

"What do people do at a UGuy FoxU party?" asked Eric.

"I have no idea," admitted Mrs. Butterhorn.

"Is it just for the guys, or are girls allowed?" Dane snickered.

"Only foxy ones," winked Eric.

Everyone looked at Mr. Butterhorn who was reading the newspaper at the table. He was a retired naval officer and worked as a deputy prosecutor for the county. He was precise, mentally disciplined and possessed strong powers of concentration. As he turned the page of his newspaper, he felt eyes on him. "Oh, oh, I'm in trouble for reading at the table again," he mumbled, folding the paper and setting it aside.
